The Broken Glass

The Broken Glass
Artist: 大米饭
Artwork description:
This painting symbolizes Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) — bones as fragile as shattered glass. The broken textures mirror the vulnerability of those living with brittle bones. Despite physical fragility, the color tones reflect a child’s inner resilience and yearning for strength and life.
Disease Introduction: Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI)
Type: Musculoskeletal / Connective tissue disorder
Symptoms:

Treatment:
Bisphosphonate therapy to increase bone density.
Physical and occupational therapy to enhance muscle strength.
Orthopedic surgery (metal rods or plates) for stabilization.
Growth hormone in selected cases.
Hearing aids or cochlear implants.
Dental care and lifelong fracture prevention.
