Dr. Hou is responsible for reviewing neurological, musculoskeletal, and inherited metabolic rare diseases in the common rare disease menu. She guides Rare not Alone through volunteering in hospitals. She also offers valuable suggestions to Rare not Alone's development direction and the website's design and format.

Currently the Director of the Department of Neurology at Zengcheng campus of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center. Attending Physician and Master’s Degree holder, has been engaged in pediatric neurology clinical practice and research for over 10 years. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis evaluation of pediatric neurological disorders, including autoimmune encephalitis, central nervous system demyelinating diseases, intracranial infections, neuromuscular disorders, and epilepsy. She has published 10 papers as the first author or co–first author, and currently serves as a member of the Neuro-ophthalmology Branch of the Guangzhou Medical Association, the Inflammation and Critical Care Group of the Neurology Branch of the Guangzhou Medical Association, and the Guangdong Precision Medicine Application Society.
