​"Being interested in genetic disorders has drawn me into the field of rare disease since many of them are genetically inherited. While millions of genetic disorders exist worldwide, rare genetic diseases gain way less attention than those of common ones. This also explains why treatments for rare disease are called Orphan Drug, a term that reflects their neglected status. It is my wish to raise awareness of rare disease and devote some efforts to this field through scientific outreach and regular volunteering. My vision is to make a meaningful impact in the area of rare diseases, at least within my own community."
